Booked in with Dr Pianko as recommended by my GP. First available appointment wasnt until 4 months later. I sent across my referral and info after having been booked in and was told all is good. I get a cold call by his receptionist "Nikki" 1 month before the appointment (having already waited 3 months) saying that they would have to cancel my appointment because my gastroscopy was done by another Dr. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with the rudest receptionist I have ever spoken to. Good for initial diagnosis but not good for ongoing care. Perfect place to go if you want no support and made to feel like your symptoms and bad reactions to meds is just “your body adjusting”. Ended up in hospital for 5 days over Christmas. Being diagnosed with something serious is very stressful and the whole time I was under this specialists care I felt unheard, was seen for 3mins or on the phone for 3mins and was sent a $180 bill.
Very professional team - I felt cared for during my procedure and everything went so smoothly. Dr Knight who performed my procedure and Dr Kailasapathy who was my anaesthetist looked after me and made me feel at ease. The nursing staff and admin were also lovely, professional and very caring and understanding. Thank you so much to the team for looking after me!
