10 years ago I kitted out a new rig with some of the finest Cataract oars/blades I could afford, wondering if I had paid too much. Last week (August 2021 @ ~ 1.4') we "survived" one of the lowest stage runs of the Salmon Middle Fork in recent memory - bony as h%*l - and my well-seasoned Cataracts got me thru with only a single cracked blade. 10 years. Countless strokes. Waaayyyy too many rocks and late ships. Smart buy.
Great products, awesome customer service!
Great product in the new KBO oars BUT: customer service was borderline. First it says "KBOs are exactly the same compared to the Mini Mags"...... The new KBO oars have a different rope wrap placement and: the 6.5ft KBO oars only have 12inches of rope wrap. So, to make my oars more usable, I removed the rope wrap from Cataract and re-wrapped three oars myself.
