Aaron and Cheryl were amazing and we highly recommend their services. They have local knowledge of the island and are excited to share their passion and expertise. We used their gear haul service to complete the Trans Catalina Trail, with a number of changes due to bad weather. They accommodated us and made shifts to our original plans to make our experience outstanding.
Our group of distance hikers from Arizona just completed the Trans Catalina Trail, and we couldn't have done it (at least, not as enjoyably!) without Catalina Backcountry. We used their gear hauling service from Two Harbors > Blackjack > Hotel Atwater, and the entire experience was absolutely seamless. We just used their gear haul service from Avalon to Little Harbor, and purchased firewood from them to be at Little Harbor when we got there. Great service from start to finish, no drama, and affordable pricing. Would hire again.
I had originally planned to hike from Two Harbors to Little Harbor with another adult and 3 children under the age of 8. I eventually changed that plan and began looking into options about getting to Little Harbor from Avalon and was told about Catalina Backcountry. By this time I had added 2 more kids to the trip so I told them I had 2 adults and 5 kids along with all the gear we required for camping.
