Unprofessional and disappointing experience. I paid over $3,500 to have my 3 radiators sandblasted and powder coated by Castrads. When I received them back, they couldn’t be reconnected. The threaded valve spuds were painted over, making it impossible to get a proper seal. Castrads admitted this is part of their “standard process” if spuds aren’t removed—but any professional knows critical openings should be protected during blasting and coating. I was a little intimidated with the process of replacing an old radiator in my house. The customer service team called me on the phone and we took measurements for the new radiator. The new radiator fit perfectly and looks terrific. The only negative thing to occur was when I sent back an escutcheon plate that I did not need. The plate apparently was lost in delivery going back to Castrads. Leslie graciously credited my account for the lost plate, even though we dont know what happened to it. I'm an interior designer and had a 1912's kitchen remodel that needed a low profile radiator that matched the style of the home for their new dining room. I had quick communication with Leslie, their Logistics Manager and Sales Support, any questions I had they gave me a call and gave me great information, and was on top of getting me tracking!
I've been trying to reach these folks since the pandemic, got one response and no follow up. I've emailed 3 times since. Too bad. Beautiful radiators, but apparently they don't need business in Brooklyn!
Luke and the castrads team are A+. The cast iron radiators are architectural digest quality!
