Went for a drop-in skate on Sunday morning with a couple friends and the ice at Castlegar Rec Complex was in great shape, hardly anyone else there yet. The front desk staff were friendly and pointed us straight to the right entrance without any hassle. Parking right out front made it easy to unload gear, which is always a nice bonus with hockey bags. Honestly a solid little arena for a lazy weekend outing, we'll definitely be back.
Nice place, good amenities, pool rink, meeting rooms.
Need a new rink.
Brought my dog along on a quiet Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised how welcoming the staff were about it near the arena entrance. The parking lot was wide open that early so we had plenty of room to walk around before heading in. Inside, the ice was in great shape and the whole place had that good small town hockey atmosphere even for a morning session. Definitely coming back, it is nice knowing there is a solid rec facility in Castlegar that does not mind a leashed pup tagging along outside.
Pool was quiet no water slides or fun stuff for a recreational swim though
