On Sunday, June 9th, I brought my 16-month-old baby, who was having severe trouble breathing and breathing rapidly, to Castlegar Hospital. My baby’s MSP will only be activated in July, but we have travel insurance that covers up to 2 million CAD in medical expenses. The front desk displayed a cost for non-residents of Canada as 995 CAD + 462 CAD, which I agreed to and could afford. However, the front desk staff insisted that I pay cash immediately.
