On Sunday, June 9th, I brought my 16-month-old baby, who was having severe trouble breathing and breathing rapidly, to Castlegar Hospital. My baby’s MSP will only be activated in July, but we have travel insurance that covers up to 2 million CAD in medical expenses. The front desk displayed a cost for non-residents of Canada as 995 CAD + 462 CAD, which I agreed to and could afford. However, the front desk staff insisted that I pay cash immediately. Always had great care here, sometimes a bit slow but good
Normally this is an excellent clinic but today was an absolute joke. My wife came in to see a doctor for some iv medication thst were badly needed. When she was triaged and brought to a bed there were no other patients in the er. We waited well over an hour with nothing. No doctor or nurse nothing. We were right across from the nursing station where we could watch and listen to them talk about dating sites, lunch the weekend ect. Lovely staff. I was faced with a bad situation. I had an emergency situation,but I did not have the family doctor and I moved only to BC and I did not have a medical card of BC. Everyone tried to help me. Special thanks to Dr. Kennedy, no one else has cared for me. She called and asked how I felt and helped me find a doctor. It was my best experience in Emergency. Thank you!
