I have experienced 4 different memory care facilities and this one is by far the WORST. Do not let their quaint village like facility fool you… the biggest issue is the executive / management team. We were told/ convinced that they had knowledge and experience with my fathers specific form of dementia, however, it became clear that they only wanted to fill a bed. We have just passed the first week that my brother has moved into Victorian Castle. My experience with all of the staff has been very positive. Everyone showed up to help on move-in day. I mean the Executive Director, Admissions Director, the Nursing Director and the Day Staff. I was amazed and deeply touched by the sensitivity and support they gave me through the whole process, from initial visit to move-in. My Mom stayed at the Victorian Castle for 3 years. I was very pleased with the care she received. The owners are very nice and the CNA staff and house administrator were very caring and attentive to our needs. The house has a very homey feel and is set way back from the road with a wooded back yard where we saw turkeys and deer often. It has a screened in rear deck and side porch with comfy wicker furniture to sit and enjoy nature. The CNA's make home cooked meals they eat together at a large dining table.
