We were on the East coast during storm Amy, 3rd 4th Oct 2025, but luckily for us Castle Fraser was still open unlike some other nearby NTS properties. The only weather restriction in place was not being able to go onto the roof balcony at the top of the round tower. The first place we headed was the tearoom, and we were not disappointed. I had soup and my wife had a bacon roll, GF bread was available which she subbed for the wheat roll, very generous and tasty portion of bacon. We also had 2 nice cups of coffee. Coffee shop really snug and cosy - great coffee, hot chocolate and cakes. Staff lovely too. Great little historic kitchen with servants bells from original castle period.
castle Fraser is one of the largest tower houses in Scotland, with a core that dates from as early as 1450. Explore the grand hall and towers, discovering the colourful history of the Fraser lairds. The traditional walled garden is vibrant throughout the seasons, with specimen trees, herbaceous borders and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. You can also enjoy some of the fresh produce in our recently refurbished courtyard tearoom....definitely worth a visit
