Great vacation cottage rental! Sherri and Willy are extremely friendly, easy-going, and helpful. We stayed in Cottage #3 and loved the size and layout of it. Well equipped, a good boat dock (and loading ramp, if you need it), and plenty of helpful tips to get the most out of your fishing trip. The spot was quiet, the beds were comfortable, the facilities were clean and well kept, and everything was pleasant. Our experience with Castaway - Sherri and Willy - is different from some of the other reviewers in that we have never stayed in the cottages. We are day paddlers and stay at a cottage very close by. Three years ago, I wrote asking if they accommodated people who simply wanted to launch kayaks and park for the day. Since then, we have been back 3 times in 3 years, and hope/plan to return again this year - 2025. For us, the deciding factor comes down to how we are received when we get there. First visit to the French River for fishing with friends. Cottage was clean & comfortable. Owners are friendly and attentive to your needs. Unbelievable fishing opportunities. Gorgeous scenery abound.
