Inexpensive. Very small town. Owner is friendly. Microwave. Hot water. Television. AC. Nice overall. Mainly a railfan motel but all are welcome.
This is a privately owned, non-chain motel that is located in one of the best railfanning locations in Pennsylvania. It is far less expensive, about half the price of other rail-oriented lodging in the horseshoe curve/Altoona area. The motel is quite close to the Cassandra Overlook, a small park with a bridge spanning the tracks that is open to pedestrian traffic, but closed to vehicle traffic. Great place to stay
Very nice place. The owner is really nice. Nice place. Second time staying here.
Came here for the all nighter and this may start to take over my usual Altoona visits XD Just make sure you call ahead as rooms are great but limited in numbers but that's probably the case with most motels anyway.
