It's a spectacular view of the trains
Inexpensive. Very small town. Owner is friendly. Microwave. Hot water. Television. AC. Nice overall. Mainly a railfan motel but all are welcome.
This is a privately owned, non-chain motel that is located in one of the best railfanning locations in Pennsylvania. It is far less expensive, about half the price of other rail-oriented lodging in the horseshoe curve/Altoona area. The motel is quite close to the Cassandra Overlook, a small park with a bridge spanning the tracks that is open to pedestrian traffic, but closed to vehicle traffic.
