My 2000 Mazda MPV minivan was on its last legs, at 159859 miles, little things were failing, radio, intermittent wipers, front struts. So I went to the Edmunds site and got two offers: Cash for Cars = $300. CarMax = $50 to $1000 but I had to bring the van to them. Then the transmission went out - van was not drivable. Absolutely amazing that saved my day. I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with CarMax. After signing all the documents, title and getting the cash, CarMax backed out on the deal when they couldn't get my car on their tow truck. CarMax brought the wrong tow truck. I was very clear my car does not start and will not jump start. But because they couldn't get it on the tow truck by "jumping starting it", they claimed false representation of the sale of the vehicle and called it off. I'm pissed.
