Had an appointment at 10:30AM due to severe right thumb joint pain. Was finally called back at 10:45AM. (Dr. had an unscheduled emergency surgery) Saw Dr. Sigerson at 10:50 AM, diagnosed my issue as arthritis and prescribed a steriod shot in the lower thumb joint. Relieved the pain immediately, but he also included lidocaine along with the shot. So far, my pain has been minimized. I was told that the steriod could last anywhere from several weeks to a year.
