Absolutely do NOT recommend Mercy Gastroenterology. Seriously, go to Portland Gastro! Mercy destroyed my life and health and left me a 100x worse than when I first went in, I will never be the same again thanks to Mercy. I was then ghosted for a month, called crazy, received no help. Months later I was eventually given a made up diagnosis that doesn't exist by medical science standards without any sort of testing or evaluation. I have had an extremely frustrating experience with this hospital. Scheduling is a nightmare. They have messed up pre auth twice (most recently they submitted pre auth 5 business days before the procedure, whereas my health insurance requires 15 business days for reviewing and processing - this procedure has been on the schedule for 3 months, so why they only just did the pre auth is beyond me) that I've had to push procedures out twice now with 2-3 days notice, after having taken the day off of work, starting the prep, and ... read more
Dr Pizo is very thorough and very kind. The staff at the center where the colonoscopy is done is above kind, compassionate and caring!!! Once you get through the cleanout, it’s a piece of cake!!
10/28/25 I had an excellent Gastroenterology visit today... The entire staff were very polite and professional throughout my visit!!!! Dr. Shu performed the procedure who l highly recommend!!!! Nevertheless, I hope my positive review will make you feel comfortable when choosing if NLMG right for you !!!!
This has been, by far, the worst hospital experience I ever had. If you love being ignored and having your voice unheard than this place is for you. They provided me a wide variety of lab work, a colonoscopy and an endoscopy, and billed me around $8,000, and told me before hand that it shouldn't be more than $1,000 which I paid early to receive the discount, only to be footed the rest unexpectedly.
