Derek and his employees did a fabulous job despite the presence of about three dozen protesters, assembled and whipped into a frenzy by a contrarian Boardwalk owner, who no matter what we are trying to accomplish, he’s against. The protesters attempted to interfere with Cascade’s work (and tossed out a few F-bombs for good measure) but Derrick and Co. stayed focused on providing great service. Derrick and his crew make Cascade Tree Care the best in the PNW! They did a fantastic job removing a giant Redwood surrounded by protesters. The crew stayed calm and proceeded with the job they were hired to do. it was a perfect job from beginning to end..even the clean up was perfect. Call Cascade to get your job done well!!
Our condo board hired Cascade Tree Service to remove a 100' redwood tree. We anticipated protestors and Derrick assured us that he could deal with any issue. He was met by about 40 protestors and waited patiently for the police to explain that all permits were approved and the city attorney authorized the work to continue. With that information protestors finally stepped aside. It wasn't a popular decision but Derrick and his crew dealt with people professionally in light of being barraged by less than polite people. They cut down a tree with an inaccurate permit. You can't just replant a century old tree. If folks are hollering for you to stop, it is worth while to investigate if what you are doing is legal and right, and also understand the irreversible consequences if you are wrong. If you are looking for an arborist that does not care to double check things before taking a chainsaw to a tree, here they are.
I called over the weekend to ensure they were aware of the inaccurate permit and public outcry. Derrick couldn’t care less. I expect they are making GREAT money to unnecessarily take down a healthy, beautiful, historic tree - hope it’s enough to cover their legal fees with the attorneys that are coming after them for cutting a tree incorrectly identified in the permit!
