About a year ago we had an accident in our home where I slipped in my garage while holding my one month old daughter. She hit her head on the concrete floor. It was every parents nightmare come true. She was screaming and very upset. My wife and I were in pure panic mode. We tried calling the new parent line with our main provider to get immediate advice. Called to find out if they accept new patients. When asked about insurance, I gave them OHP and before I could give them my secondary, she quickly and rudely told me that they didn’t accept OHP and just hung up on me. I called back and asked how they were just gonna rush me off the phone? I explained that if she’d have let me finish talking she’d have heard that I had another insurance. If that’s how they are at the front desk I sure don’t want anything to do with their physicians.
I'm not a patient of Cascade Family Practice. I had a past experience with Julie Leffler when she was an RN at Kaiser. As a nurse, you can't diagnose, prescribe or create a treatment plan. So, it was a different experience than patients would have seeing her as a nurse practitioner. In all fairness, some of this may have had to do with the fact that Kaiser runs an abysmal mental health division and many employees get burnt out and quit. Cascade DPC is fantastic. I reach Dr. Erickson any time I call, it doesn’t go to a receptionist who has to send a message and I hear back in a day or two from an advice nurse. The appointments are more thorough than any PC doctor I’ve ever seen, they take as much time as necessary to answer questions, present options and actually listen. It’s affordable and cheaper for anything I need (labs, prescriptions, etc) than my employer coverage. I’ve gotten my loved ones enrolled with Cascade DPC and very highly recommend.
