I attended this school twice and left both times. During my time there, I experienced ongoing conflict with other students related to my religious views and background. When I brought these concerns to staff, they were not resolved in a consistent or effective way. There were also multiple incidents involving student altercations that were not handled in a way that prevented escalation, against me. Sexual assault as well. Living at Casa Pacifica Children and Family Services in Camarillo at 16 was one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life. I went in hoping for support, healing, and safety, but instead I often felt ignored, dismissed, and emotionally unsafe. In my personal experience, staff seemed more focused on control and rules than actually listening to what we were going through or treating us with basic empathy.
