We are SO sad to say that Casa Maya was a disaster for dinner. This used to be our "go to" mexican restaurant. The $7 cheap lime tasting margarita was horrible. The 3 enchiladas, of which you had to get them all the same, was worse than the margarita. VERY little chicken, tomato soup sauce and practically no cheese . The chips were tasteless and out of a bag and the salsa was watery and in a tiny cup for 2 people. We were extremely disappointed since it used to be very good. Be careful with this place. They claim to offer a "cash discount" but it's really just a credit card fee. I don't believe it's legal to charge a credit card fee when using a debit card but they do it anyway. The surcharge is really inappropriate. They are very sneaky about it and calling it a "cash discount" is very misleading. When you ask them about it they just get defensive. It's really not ok. Like I said, be careful.
Best Mexican restaurant in the Sarasota area. We had the birria tacos and pork green enchiladas and they were both delicious. Unlike most places in Sarasota, the food here is flavorful. 100% recommend, will be going back.
La comida de Casa Maya es muy deliciosa. Ellos no tienen los mariscos como camarones y salmón. Ayer, mi amigo y yo ordenamos los tacos y una quesadilla. Yo recomiendo este restaurante.
Nice south Mexican place. Had good chicken mole. Daughter had 3 pork tacos with generous meat. A little pricey but it's partly the location in Lakewood Ranch.
