Staff were rude and the items were extremely expensive. I asked where the paper towels were and the guy just smirked at me and then when I found what I wanted and put it on the counter they insisted I wait because they serve men before women. I left and will never return. There is a much better hardware store between 106th and 107th street on Broadway. I went there and the exact same items were 4 to 5 dollars less and I the guy who worked there was pleasant and didn't prefer to help men over women.

This store has been a huge help in doing our apartment repairs for their large variety of products on both floors, and I get most if not all my houseplant supplies here. But unfortunately, I've gone there many many times recently to find a shuttered store with not even a note or explanation for the late opening, and I have to echo the others that the one time I went for a door lock, the locksmith seemed to never be there or always have 'just gone on break'. I would like to thank this store SO much for wasting my damn time. I literally called 15 minutes ago to ensure I could copy a key, an urgent task as one SHOULD have the foresight to understand. He tells me I can come until 5, wonderful! It takes me 12 minutes to walk there, and upon arrival the man at the counter tells me that the copy guy just went on an hour long break. Lovely! Sadly all the negative reviews are 100% true and would avoid at all costs. Shocked at how rude the cashier is and the deceptive return policy. I went to exchange an item and was told because I first went to get the new item they would not honor the return/exchange policy. He accused me of stealing the item I was returning for the exchange because I didn't first go to the counter, despite me having a receipt.
