First time visiting this establishment. We arrived around 3:30. The place was pretty empty. The rush crowd had left. One staff member was trying to get the other tables ready but stopped to seat us. He said he was alone for the time being. He waited on us and gave a list of specials. We were informed that the food was made from scratch and he answered my menu questions . Amazing food and staff! Highly recommend the Chile En Nogada and Blue Corn Huarache, both were excellent
We went here based on all the positive reviews and I can’t express what a complete and total let down it was. It was a highly anticipated dinner for my wife and I’s anniversary. I tried calling for a reservation and was told on the phone that they do not accept reservations for groups of 2. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation which we did not, but the couple behind us did apparently despite what I was told on the phone. We had the pleasure of dining at Casa Chimayo today, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in and given the choice of sitting inside or outside. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, the tableside guacamole was absolutely amazing, and every dish we ordered was exceptional.
