I had a very disappointing experience at the Carvel in Hopewell Junction. The employee working had a nasty attitude and was extremely rude and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. It felt like we were bothering them just by placing an order. Customer service makes a big difference, especially in a place where families and kids come to enjoy a treat. Unfortunately, the attitude we experienced completely ruined the visit. I hope management addresses this because customers deserve to be treated respectfully.
This is the Carvel that time forgot. The freezes were disgusting and probably from the '70s. I wanted a certain topping on my ice cream, and the woman pulls out a basically empty container, and scrapes whatever she could out of it. Two medium cups came to $17. Way overpriced. The amount of ice cream But she put in the cup was unacceptable extremely little. This place needs a remodel and to be cleaned thoroughly because it was absolutely disgusting. I will never go back here ever again.
The ice-cream cakes are smaller now since new owner ship. They are getting so small, they are putting the frosting on the cardboard to make it look the same size. Just another company and its shrink flation
Great experience. This place is like night and day to what it used to be. I don't know if the guy working there is the owner or manager but he has really turned this place around. The ice cream is delicious. The store is clean and looks fresh. Every freezer is stocked with a variety of classic, fun, and seasonal cakes. Took the kids here to get a scoop after a special event expecting to just want to take the ice cream home. The store was so welcoming that we stayed and the kids had a blast.
