On holiday to Vancouver Island with the family and had a wonderful meal tonight at Carve. Food was delicious and service from Vijay was exceptional, he was very attentive and looked after our family very well, he had a lovely manner especially with our 10 year old son. Would recommend to all.
Very nice decorated restaurant, well dressed staff. Food was good, well presented. But taste wise not very special. It didn't match the vibe/pretentious of the entourage so to say.
My first time here, with my partner and a friend of ours. Entering this establishment was lovely with a very kind hostess greeting us at the door right away and showing us our table. Then came our waiter to whom spoke so quietly and with such a strong accent it was difficult for any of us to hear. Our waiter did not know the wine menu at all, spent a long awkward moment trying to decipher words on it, then tried to recommend a sold out bottle, then downsell a bottle when I already stated a cab franc. Hard to complain, but this high end place has a silly server on our water glasses and beer. Offered $2 for bacon on hamburger but charged $2 each, even though we shared. Small things, but not for a high end restaurant.....the burger was amazing!!
