Wanted to spend one last lunch date with my daughter before starting a new job.Saw a tik tok on this place and we decided to try it out. First week of March. 1st 82 degree day of the year. They had literally a week before this heat hit to prepare. We sat down and blinds were pulled all the way down.We got there when it was first opened so around d 11:15. Great job catering the Hester-Barnes 1st Family Thanksgiving! The food was absolutely amazing. EVERYTHING (baked & fried chicken, salmon, fish, Mac & cheese, etc) was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The blueberry cobbler was delicious as well! We will ALWAYS order the blueberry Cobbler in the future. Thank you again for making our gathering successful.
A verily new restaurant in Lumberton, Carter's could be the best soul food spot in a three county area. The restaurant is a former golf course clubhouse, so it's spacious. Buffet style, the food choices aren't abundant but the food is excellent and it is continuously replenished. Staff very friendly and the drink waiter floated around the room enough to keep glasses refilled. However, it's only open -- at the time of this review -- for three hours during lunch. Well worth it.
Don't order to go if you're in a rush. I arrived when I was asked to. The employee that was helping me stopped, to help another employee with a larger order. I waited an additional 10 minutes, then left without anyone even trying to help me. If you're supposed to be helping me, help me. Don't help someone else because their order is larger.
This place gets a 10 out of 10 from me. The food is damn good every single time. I love the mash potatoes, fish and baked beans the best! Highly recommended for southern soul food that reminds me of home ❤️
