I have to disagree with whoever said Carter's is overpriced. No way! This is the most honest mechanic I have ever seen. He will never do what isn't necessary and he has given me discounts! He is careful, impeccable, and has integrity. I cannot recommend Chris Carter's shop highly enough.
Chris saved the day! My Lexus was making some weird noises and knocking sounds. The engine light was coming on and off sporadically. Carter's quickly found the problem and fixed it for a very reasonable price and quickly! The shop is clean and has a waiting area along with a play table for kids with WIFI available. It's within walking distance to a lot of cool eating places and Solano Ave so you can easily drop off the car and go run errands if necessary. The guys at Carter's are very professional and reasonably priced. I find that they estimate at what they consider to be the most time it will take so you know the probable max of what you'll have to pay. Usually I am pleasantly surprised when they present me with the final bill, in that it is less than the estimate. They have taken care of my car for two and a half years now and I am pleased with the work they have done and their prices.
Friendly service but definitely overpriced. Brought my car in a few months ago for a few repairs. After I got the quote for the work that needed to be done, I called around and asked what various other mechanics would charge. They all told me I was getting ripped off. I took my car elsewhere for the major work, but had some minimal work done on my wheels. They did such a poor job putting my hubcaps on that I lost one on the drive home from the shop. The guys at the shop are honest and extremely helpful. As a woman I did not feel taken advantage of and did not mind waiting for my car since the shop was nice and clean. I would recommend them to everyone I know.
