I took a trip down to the canyon to turkey hunt! The campsite is pretty good, the canopies at the campsite are good and supply lots of shade! If you are hunting, the cpw officer is very kind and caring! I would recommend bringing extra toilet paper and sunscreen! Fishing in the canyon is also very good if you find the right spots. The vault toilet is okay, if you are camping I would recommend bringing extra toilet paper! Happy hunting, trails, and hiking!

I came here for the "Dark Sky" to see the stars on a moonless night on June 6th but made a hasty retreat to the car as swarms of mosquitoes attacked. I found a nice mosquitoes free location where I spent the night on the Comanche National Grassland about 10 miles South East. It was a beautiful night, clear skies, a slight breeze, billions of stars.
