I’m posting this to warn others about my recent experience with a national mortgage lender, Carrington Mortgage Services. I was given initial disclosures for a conventional home‑equity loan. After I signed, the loan officer told me underwriting had suddenly stopped the process, claiming: That I couldn’t have any collection on my credit report within the last 12 months.
