I bought a ceiling fan and included the installation through Lowes at 148.53 tax included. When the installer took down the existing fan he discovered there was no cross brace - builder took a shortcut!. I know one was required from previous experience and info stated on Lowes website, so I told the installer to go ahead and put one in. He had to call the boss for an added cost, the "boss said $150+tax = $161.81. Wow! It took the installer 15 minutes at most to put in the brace. The brace at Lowes and Home Depot costs $21.
