Carol is the best therapist ever. She is straight forward, she is compassionate but she will not just sit there to hear you complain. If you just need to vent but do not want to hear where the root cause of problems and how to address them, then do not go with her. I would just say: find a friend who would listen to you without challenging you to get better. Some people can’t handle the direct in-your-face real truth of their situation...instead they want someone to tell them “it’s ok” in a baby fluffy voice and let’s them stay in their mess just to placate their feelings...but reality is after a good therapist LISTENS, they should SPEAK- and that’s what Carol Lynn does. I have recommended her to at least 5 people because by far - she’s been the BEST therapist out of like 10 I had initial sessions with to see if they would help me or “just listen”!!!! Carol is straightforward and knowledgeable. She always puts situations into perspective for me. Recommend her highly!
If you are looking for someone to give you advice, based on their personal values, beliefs, and experiences, Carol will gladly do that. If, however, you are looking for a true, person-centered counselor that will help you navigate challenges and solve problems as your partner, I don't think Carol is a great fit.
