A week ago I had to plan a funeral as I was grieving for my beloved mother. It was a most difficult task, however from the moment I walked into Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas, I knew my mom had selected the right place. My father passed away on May 8th and I honestly feel like Carnes has been holding his ashes hostage for the past month. I was naive and let a 'family friend' pay for his arrangements only to have that person cancel the payment a week later. It's been a month now and that 'family friend' has stolen my fathers belongings and drained his bank accounts. This is the second time we have needed Carnes services. Both times, Kevin was our guide through our process. Both times, Kevin went above and beyond to make an extremely emotionally draining and heartbreaking process, as easy as it could be. There were, gratefully, nine years in between our needs and the first time brought us back to him for our needs the second time. Not very good experience. The directors are not willing to help and are very rude. Once they get your money they are done with you.
