We absolutely loved the Carnegie House. The staff was seriously the friendliest and most helpful we have ever experienced in the hotel setting. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Lovely sitting areas both inside and out of the hotel. The only thing I wish is that we could move it to a more exciting location. State College does not have very much to do in the area unless you golf or see a Penn State game(we weren't doing either of those).

Not the place to go if you’re wanting to take a step back in time. The hotel is fine, it just isn’t the nod to the era they want it to be. Guest service and location are great, as was the cleanliness of the room. We were offered complimentary water at check-in and the room itself was spotless. The room had a Keurig with decent coffee and enough cream for two cups. The biggest reason I wouldn’t rate 5 stars is because they missed the mark on the styling. The hotel is nestled in the serene beauty of Toftrees area, offering a peaceful escape with stunning surroundings. The design is exceptionally luxurious, and the housekeeping team along with other staff do an exceptional job keeping everything spotless and comfortable. This is a fantastic place to stay! It may have helped that there was nothing going on in State College on Sunday night in the ultra-off-season... but nonetheless we'd go back... if we find ourselves passing through State College again.
