We had a great experience with Carl's Decking, and it started before any work began. Our original plan was a straight replacement of our back deck, keeping the existing steps that went around the back of the house to our driveway. Their salesmen — clearly visionaries — suggested something we hadn't considered: wrapping the deck around the house to match and connect it to the balcony deck we'd built the year prior with another contractor. I would give Carl's fencing zero stars if I could. I personally haven't used them and will never use them nor refer anyone to them after the experience I witnessed for a friend who hired them. Carl's was hired to replace a wood fence with a vinyl fence and replace a wood deck with a composite deck. I'm not a licnesed contractor but have a strong DIY background and have done multiple decks over my years. If I didn't have a fulltime job, I would have replaced my friends deck. Pretty disappointed with the communication and the turn out of our project (or lack there of). We had an employee come to our house to do the measurements of the fences in November of 2025. Confirmed the project in March of 2026 and had an installation date in April. A different employee came in April to do the install and within 30 minutes of being at our house he stated that the measurements are completely wrong and couldn’t complete the work. Did a good job with the wood railing but the stair aluminum railing was not installed properly.
