Tourist trap that has gone downhill tremendously in recent years. The first time I went to Carlos 'n Charlie's about 4 years ago was great. Since then, every visit has been terrible. Service is mediocre. The wait staff try to be entertaining and witty, but they sacrifice genuine customer care in favor of gags and other annoying practices. The food is way overpriced, and usually comes out stale and overcooked. Pretty much any other restaurant in Broadway at the Beach is better.
Came to the restaurant wanting authentic Mexican food and that's exactly what I got. The chicken on mole was spot on. This restaurant is very underrated. Very good spot to come eat and have a good time.
Everything started off well enough until my brother-in-law attempted to announce our sister-in-law's recent engagement. He yelled "excuse me everyone..." but was immediately interrupted by Kaitlyn, one of the wait staff, who ignorantly assumed that we were yelling at one of her co-workers. Great place, great people, great food... Dont miss it....
Honestly I NEVER review because I'm a server and I hate to bash on places but MAN this place was terrible!!!!!! 50 dollars from 2 quesadillas and 2 margaritas. Brian, our server was rude but tried to come across as funny. Kids everywhere doing dances I felt like I was at a zoo. BEWARE the food is TERRIBLE please please please please please one more time PLEASE save your money ! No wonder we didn't have to wait when we got there.
