Dr. Barroso may be technically skilled as a surgeon, but his bedside manner and communication skills are severely lacking. When discussing my husband’s non-healing below-the-knee amputation, he stood at the foot of the bed, gestured toward the leg, stated that he did not see a path to healing, and then pantomimed an above-the-knee amputation with a karate-chop motion to the thigh.
