After visiting folks in different assisted living facilities over the years, what a pleasant suprise awaited when I walked in to the Carillon of Southport. As I entered the lovely lobby, I was greeted quickly and pleasantly by staff who asked if I needed assistance. Walking through the facility felt almost homey, with artwork on the walls. From my first call, Richard Sanfilippo was absolutely the greatest resource I met during a very difficult week. He listened to our situation, offered solutions, and prepared us for next steps. He even made clear the essential parts of the process and followed up. He is a true professional and I know that the facility, residents and their families have a true advocate in Richard. Carillon is nestled in a nice area of Southport. The community is well maintained and the rooms are nicely sized. The bathrooms are all easy access and spacious as you'd expect for an assisted living community. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the residents all seem happy to be there. The community is well maintained and clean. The memory care unit has been carefully planned to benefit the residents as much as possible, and of course it's fully secured so folks can't wander off unsupervised.
