WOKEN AT MIDNIGHT FOR A FALSE FIRE ALARM—had to evacuate my whole family (including young children) onto the street. You are told at check-in that the smoke alarms are 'sensitive' and there are signs in the kitchen and bathroom to be mindful of smoke and steam as these could set off the alarm, and to close all doors when you are showering. They told me it was a faulty sensor in the basement that set off the whole establishment's alarms.
