Being a first time new mom and a nurse im very dissatisfied with Optums team of providers. Also because they will be the same people that would've delivered my baby at Vassar hospital, i finally decided to switch hospitals and Dr overall. The care provided by their team has been overall poor and inconsistent. They all appear so busy, each prenatal appointment they are in a rush and dont intend to really teach or educate anything unless you are very specific and ask. Dr. Lucal was professional, calm, and very compassionate. She took the time to explain the procedure clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. Her confidence and kindness helped ease my anxiety, which I truly appreciated. The nurse assisting her was also wonderful — attentive, supportive, and reassuring. Excellent professional very kind
Avoid using this practice, since they are owned by an insurance company, it runs like a machine with no care or concern about patients. I have watched my long time physician go from a great doctor to a very unhappy doctor who should retire - she can't use the technology and clearly under this type of arrangement is very unhappy working in a practice that is just a patient mill at this point.
