We don’t know who this company is or why my 83 year old husband got tangled up with it. He has no chronic illnesses. He didn’t give his permission to join it.  We wouldn’t have even known about it if he hadn’t received a bill. Upon calling the company, he was told he would be charged $45/month.  He was able to cancel - so they said. We shall see.  You can make you own conclusion as to why this company charges Medicare and the elderly for this kind of thing.

As a patient I was caught in this scam. Care Harmony called me out of the blue and told me my doctor was offering this care management service. I initially refused and they pressured me, saying Medicare would pay for it and I would not have to pay anything out of pocket. So I said I would try it.. The "care" consisted of a monthly phone call asking a few questions that lasted for minutes and for which they billed Medicare over $150 per call. Apparently, a loophole in medicare & private insurance procedures allows this company to coordinate with physicians to provide "nurse line support" for which the patient receives a 1- 2 minute phone call every month so that doctor can bill for services. Do not opt in for this and check your EOBs.
