We just had another great day on the water in Newport Harbor thanks to Carefree Boat Club. Ryan and the Carefree crew are always helpful and patient, and the boats are always spotless and ready to pull away from the dock when we arrive. We may not be perfect boaters yet but Carefree makes us feel like we are. I’ve read a lot of the reviews that mentioned the quality concierge-type service they received from Ryan at Carefree Newport Beach. Our experience couldn’t have been more opposite. We arrived just before 5pm on a Tuesday for our reservation that we made over two weeks prior. The day before we arrived, we received a text from Ryan stating that we would need to return the boat with a full tank or else there would be a $100 penalty. No problem there. Great boat club and marina in Newport CA. Took out a "Duffy" Sun Cruiser boat, which is a custom local boat perfect for Newport harbor. Very spacious boat with lots of room for entertaining friends. Perfect weather. I was coming in on a reciprocal reservation from a Florida club, and Ryan was great to get me oriented with Newport harbor and the boat. Will be back with friends!
As a member of the Carefree Boat Club for over two years now, I love taking advantage of the reciprocal benefits to access clubs (other than my home club in Channel Islands, CA) all over the US. The guys at Carefree do a great job keeping the boats clean and running smooth. Ryan is always easy to contact and comms are solid. I’d recommend the club to anyone looking to get on the water minus all the hassle of boat ownership.
