BEWARE!! They breach contracts. Lie about insurance coverage, lie about training. They owe the marina over $100k for fuel. Fuel pumps are regularly shut off by the marina. They are charging members $7 a gallon!!! Where is the money going? Definitely not to the marina. Many boats are down and can’t get fixed because the marina mechanics won’t work on the boats until the debt is paid. READ the over 100 terms and conditions. This once great boat club has been ruined. Basic communication skills elude the staff. Dock phone number changed but no one told the members. Members with contracted access to the club at 6 days a week have suddenly been reduced to 5 days a week (no warning, no communication, no compensation). Now the clubs are experiencing “operational difficulties” and are being closed over the weekend and reservations are being cancelled for all north Florida locations.
Robert Nix, Rob and Greg provide consistent support in getting us on the water. They emphasize safety and fun! We continue to renew membership based on the excellent service and boat selection.
Robert and Team at Carefree Boat Club on Amelia Island always provide friendly service and support for our boating experiences. Their boats are always clean and ready for us take out and they have a good selection to choose from. Both Robert the Son and Robert the Father are super friendly and helpful to include answering our frequent boating and weather questions. Thanks to them and their support Team. We have been with Carefree at Amelia Island going on our fourth year.
I'm a senior citizen female with a sailing history -- but new to driving a power boat. The people at this club (especially Robert Nix and his father) are beyond awesome - 100% willing to teach and coach. Everyone's always in a good mood. Nobody ever gets upset about anything. There's a nice selection of boats (e.g, fishing, water sports, pontoons) and it's always easy to get a reservation, and easy to cancel a reservation, and everything's always clean and in good working order.
