My insurance refused to pay for my ambulance (not Care Ambulance Service's fault). My issue is I kept in constant contact with their billing representative to let them know I was disputing my insurances denial. My insurance paid 1/3, so I contacted CAS to let them know I'd be disputing with my insurance again. My insurance paid for my ambulance service but CAS sent it to collections!!! Horrible. It's seems like a one-man operation. I called for a billing inquiry and was put on hold for 15 mins until someone answered. Also, their on-hold recording suggests to send any inquiry via email. I tried this, and no one returns any response, neither sending a confirmation that my email was received. Whoever provided a 5-star rating is questionable.
They hit me with a $1,421 bill for a <10 mile ambulance ride 8 months after my accident. The ride required no stretcher, meds or even checking my vitals. cost was not disclosed prior to service. no one answers their phones and rather than explaining the cost they throw up bureaucratic hurdles to my inquires and later insist it's a state mandated amount. the cost is triple the national average. truly despicable.
