I had a very minor problem with a used car I recently purchased. A service person named Will was at the CarX front desk. He was courteous, professional and took care of the problem in less than half an hour. When I asked what I owed, Will just responded, “No charge,” and wouldn’t accept any payment. Like I said earlier, it was a small repair, but you don’t see that kind courtesy very often these days. I was out of town when my girlfriend's car started making a noise which I believed to be the front passenger wheel bearing (very loud, distinct, easily identifiable sound). I told her to take it to get it fixed and say she believes that's what it is as she had a long trip she needed to go on before I returned. When she took it in, they told her that her wheel bearing was fine and she needed new rear brakes and shocks. Over the past 8 years, my family has trusted Car-X, but my recent experiences at the Bettendorf location have been extremely concerning. In just three visits over the last six months, I encountered poor communication, lack of management oversight, and unprofessional staff behavior. Most alarmingly, a service error during my most recent visit resulted in a dangerous fuel leak that put my safety at serious risk.
