Five stars for our ranger Lillibeth. She was very knowledgeable and so friendly with our two children. I will say if you plan to visit the house when it's open, be prepared for a 40 min ranger talk before entrance to see the house. You can see both the downstairs and upstairs of the house , a few rooms are furnished. So again, if you have kids or have trouble standing for long periods of time, you will be standing/sitting on the lawn for almost an hour listening to the talk. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in mid-June 2025. We passed by this as we were hiking the Red Maple Swamp Trail and connecting to the Fort Hill Trail. This was a very interesting stop. We took a number of pictures. The house was not open at our time of visit but still very cool to explore and look around the property.
Great side trip. After visiting the house you can enjoy the trails at Fort Hill. Beautiful views. Plenty of parking
Grab a Tour of the Captain Penniman House!! Full of Eastham AND whaling history!!
