Unfortunately 2 days of mechanical issues from the start resulted in a tow back to the marina. Given the circumstances, Captain Mannis offered to refund...so with a handshake and a gentleman's agreement we worked out other activities for the week. We were surprised to receive an email several days later that he would indeed be charging us for the week. We have absolutly no record of this man. He has never rented a boat from us. We have had zero dealings with this person. He did not receive an email from us as we do not have his contact info. We have never had any agreement with this man written or oral. This is obviously a third party review written by a bystander, friend or possible passanger on a boat and solicited by someone that may have rented a boat from us. We disregard this review for what it is. A solicated attack on our business.
Extremely disappointing experience. We rented a 26 foot Regal June 2020. The day we arrived for training the boat's bilge pump was broken and the training was delayed 2 hours. The next day the engine overheated and the water pump housing was broken. We were 1 hour and 1/2 away and had to be towed back. Our disappointment was expressed with Jamie and a verbal gentleman's agreement and handshake was given that we would only pay for the orientation and the towing. RecommendedThe boat was excellent. The orientation was really helpful because we have not boated in the SW Florida waters. It is so different from our lake up north. It quickly helped us find our way around and we learned navigation. Returned the boat and got checked in in minutes. Will probably rent again next year.
Rented a boat in December 2016 for 2 weeks, the boat was great, and there was no problem at all. All went smoth and to full satisfaction, we have rented the same boat in december this year and looking forward to using Mannis boat rentals again.
Customer service is terrible along with them having a foul mouth and harassing us by email they proceeded to post my credit card # in a google review in response to a bad review we had left. Classy business right there, so if you want a horrible experience and to be called names while them trying to have your cc info stolen this is the rental place for you

Rented boat had it for 3 hours altinator went out couldn't use it that day. Repairman said he would not fix because owner already owed him for 2 altinators. Called to get refund owner said we had used the boat for half day and would be charged. When asking for a refund and to come get the boat he cursed us out and hung up. Do not rent from thus shady person go somewhere else.
We had a verbal contract with this establishment left briefly to go get the "desired funding" for a three day rental and within 20 minute time period the boat was rented to someone else. Be cautious of your dealings with this rental agency FYI.
