If one of the owners aren’t there, you’re going to have subpar service. 2-3 workers here at a time and yet all of them are face deep in their phones, not interacting with customers. We got cones and the worker upcharged us for waffle cones without us knowing or asking, portion sizes were underwhelming and can easily be beaten by the majority of the ice cream places nearby, and it just felt like none of the employees cared about being there. Employees literally do not look or speak to you when you’re ordering, let alone pay attention or get off their phones. I’m sympathetic to indifferent employees but this was S tier awkwardness. Store has insane prices for the cards and collectibles — even for “market” price. Looked dirty, unorganized and had a disgusting bathroom. Waste of time.
Captain Jax is one of those places you walk into expecting to grab a quick ice cream, and an hour later you’re still browsing. The combination of comics, collectibles, trading cards, and sweet treats makes it unlike anywhere else we’ve visited on Hilton Head.
