At our Lexington, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D's Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Slow customer service
We eat there often. Usually good. Employees have been polite and friendly. The tables and floors always have a clean appearance. My only complaint is when deep fried items are occasionally cooked in old oil that give it a nasty "burnt-oil taste". That's pretty typical for fast food restaurants. **Update 7-6-25: The owner of this restaurant replied and said they would correct the issue of burnt oil taste in the deep fried food. Usually check bag first but was in a hurry! Paid a little over $5 for a piece of oreo cheesecake and didn't even get it!!!! But the food was good and hot!
