This place absolutely did nothing to help me. At first they told me they would, then after I said I would not press charges they wouldn't. I showed up there with obvious signs begging to stay and they told me if I was that afraid of my partner they could not take the risk. They made me feel like I was less than a human and not worthy of help. I was suicidal when I left there and came close to ending my life. They say they believe you and are there to help, and this is absolutely not true.
If i could 0 stars I would. Because of capsa turning me and my mom and 2 pugs down from shelter for a domestic violence situation, and abuse. My mother laura came many times in the past and they only helped for a 3 day when fleeing domestic violence. She has a 3 year protective order and they claimed they didnt have "funding" but other than that there was no reason to decline us. We recorded over the phone because it felt off. Saught help and healing after some trauma I had experienced and they helped scrape the surface but left me to figure out the rest on my own. I'm grateful for the lessons and tools they gave.
The property is so beautiful. It is also very clear how passionate the staff is about their work. It is incredibly humbling and touching to walk through and understand all the services offered. I absolutely love knowing that we have this incredible resource in the valley.
My husband and I attended a CAPSA facility tour. We were both very impressed by the services offered, and the comprehensive treatment they have for victims of domestic abuse. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for support.
