I called the hospital before making my booking and was clearly told that the scan would be fully claimable under my OSHC. Based on that information, I went ahead with the appointment. However, after the scan was completed, I was informed that the cost was fully out of pocket and not covered at all. Their radiographer was pretty useless in communicating to xxxxx the sequence of what was going to happen and displayed no understanding of how to assist a client with impaired movement. The equipement they had was useless for dealing with clients who could not stand up. The machine itself does not go low enought for the client to be able to sit and be scanned. The service was prompt and all the staff from receptionist nurses and doctors were caring and efficient best capital centre
As I need to have yearly CT scans which require an injection of a contrast agent, these scans have become a not so pleasant experience, but I am very grateful to the staff here as they understand my situation with veins that’s don’t behave well and they have made the whole experience a bearable one over the past few years.
