I got lost in downtown Raleigh yesterday! When I saw this place with its "hot plates" sign on the window, I knew I had fallen into something. Talked my office into "exploring" with me today. This is a place you would not ordinarily stop at. It says "ICE MARKET" on the sign. This place is as good as it gets! We had an amazing lunch of steak sandwiches, homemade french fries and homemade pound cake today. Reasonable and delicious. LOVE I work at a large institution near the Ice House (affectionately called) and for YEARS (Ive had their number memorized since the early 90's!) we have taken lunches out there. They have no dining avail. on the premises, just call in and pick up. One can also just order at the window and wait; they are super fast. The salads, BLT's, fries, dogs, burgers, home cooked veggies, homemade pound cake by the slice, all fantastic and CHEAP.
