I was off this insurance for about 4 months. I missed it. And I'm glad to be back. I have had cdphp since before it was cdphp. I don't want other insurance they have been very easy to work with 95% of the time. A couple of hitches have happened, but they've been worked through. I will say this is a very Capital District oriented health insurance, so if you decide to move to Tennessee this probably is not the insurance that you should take with you. For me, even though I live out of the area, I'm happy to drive back to the Al... read more

$1,000 a month for top coverage-$12,000 A YEAR- nothing is covered, constant denials, constant run around, constantly having to jump through hoops to get anything done. Company is a complete and utter joke and the very reason insurance companies get a bad name. They are EVERYTHING that makes the industry bad. Save your money, seek coverage elsewhere, or just pay out of pocket, you’ll probably save money in the long run. To say this company is a pathetic joke would be an understatement.

Over the last year, CDPHP has begun to require pre-authorizations for every service I seek out, and they have increasingly begun denying claims for spurious reasons. For one example, an additional 'requirement' to get authorization for a drug I have been taking for over three years. For another, a treatment I have had several times over the last few years is now disallowed as 'experimental'. It is clear they are trying to save money and that it is coming at expense to patient care.

I went to the office in Latham to drop off paper work and authorization form for a hispanic member and met a great person named Alex. She was not only friendly but so helpful and put me at ease with everything. She has has Spanish language background which will be very helpful for the Hispanic community. Iknow I can go there and have all my questions answered and have a nice experience. I highly recommend this office and insurance. Thank you.
