I lived at Cape Mear Lighhouse in the early 1960's. My husband was in the Coast Guard and was assigned, with another Coast Guardsman, to man the lighthouse. Trading shifts on and off. At that time there were two large, two story houses, meant to house Coast Guardsmen, near the forests edge with a walkway down to the lighthouse.
