What a disappointing experience! The room looked pretty decent from the pictures, but once we got there it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned and maintained. The smell was horrendous, and there were stains on all the comforters and couches. There was a really disgusting brown stain in the kitchen as well. On top of all that, the pool was closed, which was something that not communicated at all when we were reached out to confirm our stay a week prior. We loved our stay at the Hatteras Motel. Very clean. The oceanfront room had an excellent view of the ocean. Large tall beach chairs on our porch. Only steps from the ocean Very friendly staff. Near to Haulover sound access. Close to local shops. Can't wait to return!

I think there must have been some staffing issues this weekend. Definitely a case of over promising and woefully underdelivering. Check in was 3 hours delayed. Room was rush cleaned seems like they only had 2 people do the cleaning one of which was front desk/ on site host. Cleanliness is something I do not compromise on. We were beat been on beach all day looking to wash up and go to dinner. We didn’t get into place til after 7 and back from dinner til 10. Got in bed and full of sand!!!! What the heck.
